Applying for a loan is one of the most troublesome elements of purchasing a house. But it doesn't have to be. Being close with many mortgage lenders in Selah has helped me recognize a lot of the things that make the loan application process very manageable.

1 – Create a list of questions regarding your loan program

Be sure to have a list of questions if you do not thoroughly understand the advantages and disadvantages of the different programs. It can be a challenge to know the distinctions between fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. 2 – Decide when to lock

When you lock in an interest rate, a lender is guaranteed to commit to the interest rates for the loan – ordinarily at the time the loan application is presented. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate anytime between the day of your loan application and the issuing of closing documents. 3 – Determine if you want to pay additional points to lower your rate
